Something to be aware of. There's a guy on Y!A who answers a lot of questions in Music -- like a thousand questions a week (seriously) -- so he may answer this one. What you need to know is that even though he almost always wins Best Answer, his answers are worthless. He wins because he cheats during voting. (I'm not mentioning his name, but everyone who answers questions in Music knows who he is.) He has a huge number of points, so you might think he knows what he's talking about, but he doesn't. He knows nothing about music, and he doesn't care about helping people. He just wants the points. For some reason he generally pretends to be a girl. His answers usually tell you to try Sheetfoxmusic, or 911tabs for the tablature, or some other nonsense -- completely stupid. Don't be fooled by the fact that he gets four votes, or six, or sixteen. Just ignore him.
What are the actual names of these notes?
Q. I'm playing a song on the guitar and i'm trying to find the actual names of these notes so i can play them on the piano. I have a capo on the 9th fret and the note shapes that i am using are G, Em, Am, Bm7 and i want to know what i'm actually playing

A. I don't know what voicings you're using -- exactly how you're playing G, for instance -- so I'll give you just the basic notes of the chords. Feel free to email me if you have questions.
On the 9th fret:
G = E. The notes are E-G#-B.
Em = C#m. The notes are C#-E-G#.
Am = F#m. The notes are F#-A-C#.
Bm7 = G#m7. The notes are G#-B-D#-F#.
