How do you use triads to form a melody?

Q. I am trying to learn how to make a melody using triads. If your song you want to create follows a key signature of F major for example. How would I go about doing this? Would the chord sequence be able to follow this type of pattern.. FAD, GBbD, ADF.. And so on? Am I allowed to change the root note like that but still remain within the scale?

A. well you have an d minor chord first inversion, followed by a g minor chord, followed by an A diminished chord or enharmonic a D major chord first inversion.
Major chords in chromatic progression would be FAC, GBD, AC#E.

I think you are looking for an ascending major scale triad progression.

Look up the CIRCLE of FIFTHS to better understand natural chord progressions.

Original Question

Can we draw conclusions about harmonizing keys from harmonizing notes in chords?
Q. I don't have my piano in front of me right now or I would answer my own question.

So, take the C chord - C E G

My question is, if I have 3 voices playing major scales in the keys of C E and G, would these three voices remain in harmony with each other?

A. hmm...

they would all be in thirds.

C D E F G A B <- C Major
E F# G# A B C# D# <- E Major
G A B C D E F# <- G Major

producing the following chords:

CEG, DF#A, EG#B, FAC, GBD, AC#E, BD#F#

C Major, D Major, E Major, F Major, G Major, A Major, and B Major

so yep, I think they would be.

Original Question

Is anyone good with chords on the piano?
Q. I am lost completely! How do u find a chord? For example a g chord is gbd and an a is ac#e. How do you come up with this? And if you have any other advice for chords please let me know. Thanks

A. Simply put:

Choose the note you want to play the Major or Minor chord of. E.g. If you cant to play a G chord start with the G note.

Major Chords:
Play the root note (the G) skip 3 notes (including the black keys) and play the next note (the B), then skip 2 notes and play the next note (the D). This essentially is the major chord formula. Root note - Skip 3 - Skip 2. This will allow you to play any major chord on the piano.

Minor Chords:
Similar with one difference. Root note - Skip 2 - Skip 3. The order of skipping is switched. Alternatively you can play the major chord and then simply move the middle note to the left one key. That is a Gm would be G - Bb - D
