Q. I asked for a ukulele for christmas. I only had two things on my list. so basically, I know 99% that I'm going to get one for christmas.
I know how to play the flute and piano. so I have musical experience and can read music. how do I go about learning the ukulele easily? any sites? I don't want to take lessons. any methods on learning the notes and reading them, ect.
and is there a site that has uke music , like popular songs? thanks!
A. My uke came with an instruction booklet, so that's how I learned. But if you don't have something like that, I would recommend http://www.easyukulele.com/index.html because it lists a lot of things like chord charts that are useful. Also, you don't have to use every feature, because it's not an interactive lesson or anything, so that's pretty great.
For tabs, I use www.ukulele-tabs.com/ and ukulelehunt.com/tab-chords. They're usually pretty accurate and list a lot of songs.
When you're first starting, you should learn the G, C, F, and Am chords right away because you can play just about any song with them (in the key of C major)
