Piano chords PLEASE!?

Q. I would REALLY like the piano chords (which i asume are the same for recorder) for Canned Heat - Going up the Country. If anyone could help that would be REALLY great!
Thanks!

A. I believe the song is in the key of C just using my head for a reference(I have perfect pitch). And its just a 12 bar bues pattern. So the chords would be C,F,and G.

Original Question

Does anyone know the piano/recorder chords for these songs & artists?
Q. I need piano/recorder chords for Son Of Dork, Busted, McFly and Avril Lavigne..? I'd also be needing chords for the whole song of My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion? AND probably some songs from High School Musical 2..

A. Most recorders are tuned either to C (with the lowest tune being C) or to F, so you can play the basic melody of the pieces quite easily if you just know how to read sheet music! So, you have to get the sheet music books first, then get yourself a pianist to accompany you while you play the melody.

All the music you mentioned is copyrighted, so there is NO legal way for you to get the sheet music for any of the songs for free, sorry.

Original Question

How do I become good at piano?
Q. I am 15 years old and I want to be good at playing the piano. What should I do? The first songs that I tried were modern songs with basic 4 chord progressions and just the lead. I tried playing the piano because I saw a schoolmate of mine and it was the first time I ever saw a piano. It was a keyboard actually and I just loved the sound of pianos. After 2 weeks of trying to learn piano, I tried learning River Flows in You by Yiruma. I learned it in a week and I practiced it at home after class and after homeworks and projects. I am a fast learner. After 2 months, I tried to ask my music teacher if he can teach me Turksih March by Mozart. I only got all the parts before the hard part because I became bored. That was because I am very slow at reading sheet music until now and I need 10 seconds just to figure out a note in that sheet. This was so frustrating and very time consuming. That is why I got bored. I stopped playing aterwards. Please note that I only played with a very low quality keyboard which has very light and small keys. After a few months, I went here to Japan and I attended junior high school. This is my current situation. I have only been in this school for 2 weeks and I also need to focus on my Japanese but I really want to improve my piano skills. The first time I actually saw a real piano and played it was last week which was my first week at school and I tried to play River Flows in You for my classmates but I already forgot all the notes and the keys were so big and they were so heavy that it was hard to make sound. I also did not know how to use the pedals. I would like to take advantage of my fast learning skill. I am currently learning how to play an alto recorder for our music class test. I learned how to play My Heart Will Go on in about a continuous 6 hours of studying. This contains the fingering, sheet music reading, and the technique. I am a bit faster in reading sheet music now than before. I also do not have a keyboard here in Japan. Please suggest something for me. If you would suggest me to buy a keyboard, please suggest something for my level of skill which is about level 3 or 4. The songs in this level are Fur Elise, Chopsticks, Ode to Joy etc. I am looking forward to your answers. Thank you to your answers in advance.

A. Hi: As a pianist and piano teacher for many years, since 1971 I wd. like to give you some ideas.
Music is the Universal language; it transcends all languages bec. all can enjoy it. But like any language it has elements to learn; for instance you can read the music, write music, or just play it. Just like learning Japanese; will you speak only, or can you read & write the language also; it all takes alot of study and time to get good.
About 5 yrs ago I married my lovely & wise Asian wife, I was the youthful age of 53; both our first marriage, she was 46. Fortunately she had learned to speak, write and read the English language. I can only hope to someday speak some of her language. I don't see myself reading or writing her language. (But as a single I spent hours and years enjoying my musical progress on Piano & other instruments) Kept me out of trouble!
At your age you can accomplish alot in the languages you're interested in: Music & Japanese. But you can save alot of time if you decide what your goals are & focus on those. Sometimes teacher's can waste students time by offering materials they have no interest in or areas of study they don't wish to know. As a student it is your option (maybe) to express to your teacher the areas you need or want to focus on and put your time and your teacher's expertise on those areas.
Also, in music I've found some learner's have strong areas in ear playing, but teacher's keep forcing the music at them & discourage their ability of playing without music. But like language learning, just realize it takes time! An hour or more a day would be a good goal for your practicing. And be patient with your progress, your teacher and yourself. I used to think I wd never be any good; but as the years went by I learned from a variety of teacher's, & have produced over 6 CD's of pretty nice piano music.
EZ Play books, & EZ Play music is comparable to TAB on guitar; both are quick shortcuts to learning songs you want to play. Hard part in piano is usu. the left hand. I've written a book called: Piano Secrets: The Fast & Fun way to Play the Piano along w/ a CD. I also have an EBay store that has a variety of piano ESheets ( I name them) for piano learning. To find go to Ebay.com & type in 'Play Music by Ear" and then you can visit our store to see more. I'm all for learning to read music, and I've learned lots of classical and other styles of music. Another option to
think on, and one that I've enjoyed alot with today's technology is to enjoy the Lowrey Organs. These have amazing sounds and limit how much work your left hand has to do. And can help more people play music than the piano, that is often given up bec. it takes alot of time before people are happy with what they hear.
Hope these give you some help & hope you enjoy your music. The world is a better place with good musician's to keep our heart's singing a happy tune! Chris
ps For now I'm also offering thru Ebay Piano lessons thru Skype; We're on Pacific Standard Time.
