What are the piano chords to Marija Serifovic - Molitva?
Q. I'm not very good at playing piano by ear so can someone give me the simple chords to the song?
And the notes in the chords too if that is okay.
Thanks,

A. I used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUjnHhQV8Os for the chords -- I hope it's the right song.

Original Question

What are chords in piano?
Q. Like C, C7, C, and Am7. I see them on top of my piano music and I don't understand. Are there different ways of playing a C chord, for example?

A. The letters refer to the proper chord to play in that part of the song. They usually refer to the left hand and put them at the top of the sheet music to make it easier for people to change the song and make it there own...even when there's already music written for the left hand. It can also be used when you're playing in a band...it can tell you what chords the guitarist should play, for example.

Yes, there are different ways to play a C chord (CEG, EGC, or GCE...any combination of the notes in that chord). Any one of those combinations will sound good when you play it there.

The lower-case m's mean "minor". "Am" means A-minor. So think of the chord in the key of A-minor (A, C-major, and E) and play any combination of those 3 notes. If there's no m, it's automatically -major.

I don't remember the exact translation/definition of the 7, but I think it simply means to add the 7th note of the scale to the chord. The website I posted in the source box lets you look any of them up.
