Piano piece question?
Q. Hi. The attached link is the the sheet music of a song I am trying to learn.

The youtube link is the link to the song as performed on an album.

I am ahving trouble using the piano pedal. If I use it all the time, everything jumbles together. But if I use it less or not at all, it does not flow and there are blatant gaps in teh performance. Would someone give me tips for when and where I should be using the pedal by pointing out certain parts in the sheet music where using a pedal would be best? Also, how can I make teh music flow like it does in the mp3 on Youtube.

A. Ah, the dreaded piano pedal. Okay, hopefully you will get this. You can use the pedal throughout the whole song, but the trick is that about every measure or two, or whenever your left hand or right hand changes chords/notes or replays(not the little notes, but like the whole notes) you have to lift off the pedal quickly and then press back down, to keep it clean.

So in the beginning, use the pedal, then when your left hand changes notes pedal again quickly. I would say after that to do it about every other measure where you pedal up and down. Really, when things just start sounding a bit jumbled, just lift up real quickly. If you do it fast enough, no one can tell because as long as your holding the note, it is still sounding.

I hope this made sense. And thats like a lovely song, I may tuck it away for later learning...
