Q. so I have the vocal part of a song written but I'm having a hard time coming up with the accompaniment. It's a quite rhythmic song so I feel weird just using plain chords. Anyone have any ideas?
A. Try to imagine you're playing drums and/or strumming rhythm guitar when you're playing the chords. Start out simple, and remember what sounds or feels good to you and build from there. Try alternating your left hand with your right hand rhythmically for variety. Try playing arpeggiated chords instead of block chords.
There's no rule. Just try stuff until something sounds good. Just make sure that what you play doesn't get in the way of or clash with the vocal. You'd be surprised at how many professionals do exactly that: They just try different stuff until they come up with something that sounds and feels good.
Playing piano while singing?
Q. I want to have a piano accompaniment while singing but I don't know which notes to play. The chords for my left hand is usually easy to search on YouTube, but for my right hand, I don't know what to play. I don't want to play the melody of the song, as I only want an ACCOMPANIMENT.
Where can I look for song chords for my right hand while playing piano? Do I have to listen to the song and figure it out myself? Or is there some website where it shows the piano acocmpaniment for both left and right hand for songs? (recent ones like Taylor Swift, The Fray, etc.)
I really need help! And I hope this question makes sense, cause I'm not good at explaining.
PLEASE HELP! thanks!
A. ....for usual accompaniment you play chords with your right instead of the melody. With your left you play the bass notes.
On sheet music the chords above show the chords for your right hand. Just try to find a free sheet music website and look at the letters above. Those are the chords you play.
Piano Chords Confusion ....?
Q. So i would like to join the praise team band for my church and they have sheet music that goes by chords. so i know that you have to play the chord on your left hand but im confused about what you play on the right hand. or am i wrong completely? i just never known how to play a chorded song
A. You should play in accompaniment style, meaning that you just play the chords while the singers take the lead. You can copy the chord youâre playing with the left hand on the right hand as well. Trust me it works, Iâve done it for years.
If you need a chord chart for your left hand chords, try this one:
