Q. Does any one know FREE sites where i can get violin or piano pieces
A. Unfortunately, the chances of you finding free sheet music are slim to none, since these songs are fairly new and copyrighted. Most free sheet music on the web is either public domain or posted with permission of the composer.
However, there are free piano tabs. They're just chords and not the chorus, but they might be helpful: http://www.911tabs.com/tabs/p/panic_at_the_disco/piano_tabs/
If you're not familliar with tabs, here's some information: http://tabnabber.com/documents/howtoreadtabs.asp
There's also a tab converter at the following site. Just paste a guitar tab (you'll find tons of those via Google) into the box and it will convert it to piano: http://tabnabber.com/convertorBasic.asp
seether "the Gift" sheet music?
Q. I'm looking for sheet music fro The Gift by Seether. Preferably for free, but I'm willing to pay for it. Also, I know this song is done with guitar, but I play piano. If you could find it with piano that'd be great. If you can't, is here a way I could do it with piano using the guitar sheet music?
A. So.. here's the thing:
Link to the MIDI intro for piano: http://tabnabber.com/view_Tab.asp?tabID=744&sArtist=Seether&sName=the+gift <-- on the right from "Instrument Map" button
Just right click and select "Save link as.." or similar.
That will get you a MIDI file which You can easily convert to sheet music with any "MIDI to sheet music converter" program online (look for it on Google for example)
The sheet music is on sale along with the chords on musicnotes:
http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtdFPE.asp?ppn=MN0052701&ref=google
here You can get the whole score for $5.25 and as You can see on preview, you get the chords above each line. If You know the basics of playing the piano, you will have no problems with using this as a main resource.
Also a useful link: http://www.jellynote.com/en/sheet-music-tabs/seether/the-gift/504a0d4ad2235a3ff94a8ec7#tabs:%23score_A
I hope this helps. Enjoy Your practicing! (:
Is there a computer program that can tell me what musical notes are used in a song?
Q. Hello! I am trying to play a song I have on the piano, but there are some parts that I can't quite play. I don't have the sheet music for the song, I am playing it by ear; however, some of the notes are too low that I cannot really know what they are. Is there a computer program that can listen to the song for me and tell me what notes are being played at a particular time? Thanks in advance!
A. There are several software programs that claim to be able to do that. You'll want to search for an AUDIO to MIDI converter. However, I have downloaded and tested all of them and not one of them does a very good job. So, it's a technology that is evolving and in my opinion, it's just not ready yet. If you know what key you are playing in, and you have a chord wheel, you can generally figure out what those missing notes are. I play guitar and bass and I write music. I also use the keyboard to figure out a lit of things like melodies and harmonies and chords to go with a lot of the songs I write. I also use it to record various parts of songs. I'm not a keyboard player but, once I know the key, my chord wheel, identifies what chords go well in that key and the bass parts and rhythm guitar parts just fall into place after that. I don't read either music, I play by ear. Now, I can record in midi from my keyboard a melody like and record it into Guitar Pro software and Guitar Pro will write the music for me. So, that program may be of some help to you. You can download it and try it out for free also. You will need an electronic keyboard with a USB midi output on it or a computer with standard midi I/O and midi I/O ports on your keyboard as well.
