What are the chords for "Not Alone" by Darren Criss?
Q. I found them on ULITMATE-GUITAR but they didn't sound right... anyone know?
A. Hi there :)
The reason they may not have sounded right to you depends on what version of Not Alone you're familiar with, as well as which version you got from Ultimate Guitar! Personally, I use these chords: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/d/darren_criss/not_alone_ver2_crd.htm
and those have been worked out from this video of Darren playing at Azkatraz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GCYTSqepXw
The version on Darren's EP is played on piano (as is the AVPM version) rather than on guitar, as in the video that that version was created from.. But I can assure you those are the right chords, regardless of instrument! :) I mean, I've played it on both guitar and piano using those chords from UG and it sounds great to me :)
Although, actually, in the beginning of the song, you might like to alternate between A and Asus4 instead of just playing Asus4!
If you'd prefer though, there are a few video tutorials on YouTube.
This is a ~really excellent~ one for piano: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i0cJrrMO4E
And this is a pretty good one for guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi15DmkeKBw
So take your pick! And the girl who did the guitar tutorial has a lot of other good DCriss and Starkid tutorials, if you're interested in those :)
Good luck! It really is a wonderful song, so I understand wanting to play it so much :)
Translating Guitar Tabs to Piano Chords?
Q. Im a musician who plays piano and sings and i usually compose my own "chord-based" versions of songs based on the guitar tabs. Im stuck though, does anyone know how to translate "Aadd2" "Asus4" and "Esus4" into a comparable sounding piano chord? This would help greatly! thanks
A. Do any of the links below help you?
I hope so
:)
