Q. I get the general idea and know a lot about music, but I don't know how the numbers line up. What is the highest note for each number? Like, is E5 higher than A5?
Ok, but how do the notes inbetween the C's fit in? Like where does it switch from 3 to 4? Is it C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 A3 B3 C4?
Ok I've got it now: of all the 3s C is the lowest and B is the highest, and the same for all the other octaves obviously.
A. It's more of a reference in regards to a piano keyboard. C3 is referred to as 'middle C' as it is in the middle of a piano and the numbers change in respect of the octave. So C4 would be one octave higher than C3 and C2, one lower. The same thing applies to all the notes in between!
Could also be a 5th of a chord depending on your source and how it is written, but not likely as it is usually reserved for 7ths, 9ths 11ths etc.

Now if you are playing a baritone ukulele which is really the first 4 strings of the guitar you would play the song below just like it is written. But the baritone uke does not have the 5th and 6th bass strings. Play the chords using the same chord positions playing only 4 strings.
Now if you are playing the soprano ukulele, just play the exact CHORD NAMES of the chords written in the song. The chords of any songs are the exact same chords though they are played differently on the instrument. A C chord on the piano is the same notes of a C chord played on the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, banjo etc.

A. C2 is not a proper chord name, the reason is because it isn't clear what it's supposed to be.
It's either Csus2, which has the notes C D and G, or C add 9 which has the notes C E G and D. It's likely C add 9... lots of those praise songs use that sound lot (in fact, they overuse it, it's pretty cliche)
