How to tune a guitar just by ear?

Q. I don't have any metronomes...no piano...just the guitar...or any other tuning things...please help...ty ^^

A. If you tune the guitar just by ear it is easy to break strings.
Start with the high pitch string. Make it sound ok and not too tight. If it breaks you went too high. If it buzzes when you press the 4th fret you are too low - or your guitar has a bent neck.
Once you decide that the top - 6th string is ok, gently touch right over the low - 1st string's 5th fret and play it. Just touch it above the fret, don't press it down. Pick it nearer the bridge than usual.
This tone should match the 6th string open pitch. Set it.
Gently touch right over the 1st string 5th fret and the 2nd string 7th fret. Match the tones.
So the 1st @ 5th fret = 2nd @ 7th fret = 6th open.
Gently touch right over the 2nd string 5th fret and the 3rd string 7th fret. Match the tones.
Gently touch right over the 3rd string 5th fret and the 4th string 7th fret. Match the tones.
Now, Gently touch right over the 1st string 7th fret and the 5th string open. Match the tones.
Gently touch right over the 2nd string 7th fret and the 6th string open. Match the tones.

This is called harmonic tuning. After you do this you play a C chord and adjust for your errors.

Good luck. I hope you did not break any strings.

:-D If you have Internet you can get tones at several places.
