Does Anyone Know The Chords For Thos Song?! Please Help!?
Q. I really need help! Does anybody know the piano chords to Orange County Suite by The Doors? I don't play piano really, but I wanna learn this song because it sounds like it's just two chords! And I already looked everywhere I could! Thank you! Here's the song
http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=CA#/watch?xl=xl_blazer&v=l9EKlcbEbT4
A. I just listened to it. You're right, it's basically two chords.
I think in the left hand he's playing an octave throughout -- always C, always two notes an octave apart.
Here are the two chords.
The first is C minor: Left hand C (octave), right hand (bottom to top) G-C-Eb.
The second is almost the same -- technically it's F7no3/C. All you do is change the G in the right hand to an F, so it's: Left hand C (octave), right hand (bottom to top) F-C-Eb.
That's the whole song except the end, which is three chords played close together.
The first is C suspended 4th (Csus4): Left hand C (octave), right hand G-C-F.
The second is C minor: Left hand C (octave), right hand G-C-Eb.
The third is C major: Left hand C (octave), right hand G-C-E.
That's the whole thing. See how it sounds to you. Let me know if you have questions.
How do you make a "sustained" chord on piano?
Q. If I'm playing a major triad, do I drop back middle finger or something (forgive me if I sound like a noob- I am)
A. The chord you are referring to is a "suspended' chord. The suffix "sus" appears after the root letter name, sometimes accompanied by the number 4 or 2. Example: Csus, Csus4, or Csus2. What it indicates is that instead of the usual "CEG" spelling of a C triad, Csus= "CFG, Csus4="CFG"(same thing, different way of writing it), and Csus2="CDG". Each of these usually resolve the suspension to the"E". The suspension is found on 4th tone of a major or minor scale. 7th chords also frequently appear with the "sus" symbol. Example; Csus7="CFGBb".
