Q. God made Adam and Eve, who were normal humans. Then when they were banned from the garden, they had 10 sons and 10 daughters. They had sex with the fallen ones (aliens) and created the Nephilim. Then the fallen ones wanted to create slaves to do their work, so they had sex with monkeys and eventually evolved them. After time, the fallen ones died and went down in Babylonian mythology as Gods. The Nephilim were kings and heroes in mythology and the bible, such as Goloith. The neanderthals eventually met up with normal humans that were decendants of Adam and Eve since adam lived until he was 800 or something and married Lilith (then again... where did lilith come from?) so they mated and eventually evolved into homo sapians.
A. God desired self-expression and desired companionship; therefore, God projected the cosmos and souls. The cosmos was built with music, arithmetic, geometry, harmony, system, and balance. The building blocks were all of the same material - the life essence. It was the power of God that changed the length of its wave and the rate of its vibration which created the patterns for multitudes of forms. This action resulted in the law of diversity which supplied endless patterns. God played on this law of diversity as a pianist plays on a piano - producing melodies and arranging them in a symphony.
Each design carried within it the plan for its evolution. This plan corresponds to the sound of a note struck on a piano. The sounds of several notes unite to make a chord; chords in turn become phrases; phrases become melodies; melodies intermingle and move back and forth, across and between and around each other, to make a symphony. Then in the end, the music will stop and the physical universe will be no more; but between the beginning and the finish of the music there was glorious beauty and a glorious experience. The spiritual universe will continue.
Everything assumed its design in various forms and their activity resulted in the law of attraction and repulsion. All forms would attract and repel each other in their evolutionary dance.
All things are a part of God and an expression of God's thought. The Mind of God was the force which propelled and perpetuated these thoughts. All minds, as thoughts of God, do everything God imagined. Everything that came into being is an aspect of the One Mind.
The souls of individuals were created for companionship with God (the Whole). The pattern that God used to create souls was the pattern of God's own Spirit. The spirit is life. From the spirit, the mind builds patterns. From the mind, the physical creation is the result. This is how the spirit, the mind, and individuality, became the pattern for souls. This is how cause, action, and effect became the pattern for everything. First there was the spirit (the first cause); then there was the action which withdrew spirit into itself; then there was the resulting individuality of God.
The spirit of the individual existed before their soul was created. The spirit keeps the knowledge of its identity with God. The soul has the ability to experience the activities of the mind in a manner separate from God.
jazz piano improv?
Q. How do you learn how to play jazz piano improv and play from fake books. I wish I can play like Jamie Cullum. Have you guys heard of him?
A. It's actually pretty hard. You really have to LEARN YOUR THEORY...improvisation comes from the heart but to express what you feel inside you must have the intellectual prowess to do so. Learn your scales, chord progressions, chords, voicings...(I skipped this stage a bit because I have a very developed ear, and now have some problems!). But also listen, listen, listen. I'm sure you already do (Jamie Cullum's great!). Try singing along to other people's solos and maybe even write them down.
For jazz fake books, I recommend "The Real Book." It's the jazz bible, so to speak, although it is frequently wrong. Buy a legal version -- it's more expensive, but also more correct. I also recommend the Charlie Parker Omni Book. It includes Parker's transcribed solos so you can play them on the piano. It's very helpful.
Most importantly, let go. Just fool around on the piano and something might strike you. Like I said earlier, jazz improv comes from the heart. Just let everything inside you go.
Best of luck!
Jazz piano: Daily Drills ?
Q. What kinds of drills do Jazz pianists practice on a daily basis, scales, arpeggios, chord changes ?
Can you suggest any books ? I have the Hanon, but it doesn't have any Jazz scales in it. Thanks.
A. Go down to the magazine store TODAY and buy a copy of Keyboard Magazine. Read it like the bible.
Practice your classical music. Listen to Jazz piano players. Go to sleep listening to Jazz piano players. Wake up to jazz piano players. Listen a lot. It'll come if you really care. You'll see.
Good luck.
