Can you help me with my sing book?
Q. I got this Michael Jackson book it's for Piano/Vocal/Chords. I try to sing the lyrics but they are mixed up. How can I understand this bettar?
A. Lyrics that are right under the same line means they will be sung the next time the notes above them will be played again. The lyrics aren't mixed up.
Here is an example of how you will read Billie Jean...
Sing all the 1's first then go back and sing the 2's.
1. She was more like a beauty queen from a movie scene
2. For forty days and forty nights law was on my side
1. I said don't mind, but what do you mean I am the one
2. But who can stand when she's in demand her schemes and plans
So basically, the 1's are the first verse and 2's are second verse.
The reason they are placed like this is not to mess with you. It is because the lyrics will have the same notes played again so instead of writing the notes again, they just put the lyrics below.
