Any suggestions on good books to help a beginner learn Piano Chords?

Q. Ok, got a nice Keyboard, picked up "Piano for Dummies" but rather than learn and play individual notes
I heard you can learn and play Piano Chords like you would on a guitar instead of all individual notes, . If I don't have any success playing individual notes can someone suggest a good book that shows you how to play Piano chords? Thanks in advance

A. Hey....lame as it may sound....a good way to learn piano is to get a hymn book....whether you're religious or not... If you can work your way through a hymn book you can learn piano. That is how I taught myself. I started when I was like 12 and went from there to playing very advanced pieces...

Now I even compose my own music. Hymn books are usually pretty simple but they are also very varied. Give one a try! You could probably find one second-hand at a thrift store somewhere for only a dollar or two!

Good luck!

Original Question

what is a good book to learn to play piano with that will include all the essentials I need to know?
Q. I'm looking for a piano book to learn all the basic things I will need to know to become good at piano. Any ideas? Please I need your help!

A. I would start with some of the free resources on the internet. For example, you can practice sight reading for free here:
http://www.learn-treble-clef.info/
http://www.learn-bass-clef-info/

As far as books, the Alfred's All-in-One series is a good place to start. You can get all three books as a package for about $40 I think. Also, check out "How to Speed Read Piano Chord Symbols".

Original Question

How do I find Natalie Grant: The Real Me sheet music?
Q. I just want Natalie Grant's:The Real Me sheet music. I don't want a book or anything--just that one song. Honestly easy piano/chords on the piano would be perfect too. (I can't play the piano like I used to but I mean I can work extremely hard if needed) I just want to be able to play this song on the piano and sing to it. I absolutely love it.

A. You should be able to find a copy through one of your local shops, that sells instruments, and gives lessons. Selling sheet music is also an important part of their business, because shops that usually sell instruments, and, or give lessons either stock, or are willing to order different types of sheet music. Sheet music purchased through a shop will be accurate, and correctly scored versus what you may get from someone on the internet, or through websites.
