Q. Back in grade school we use to play these games to help us learn to type on a computer keyboard. does this same concept exist with learning how to play the piano? from what i remember with those typing games, words would just pop up fast and you'd have to type them out and eventually you burn the keys in your brain cause you're doing it over and over again. anything like that with like piano chords and scales?

Online Music Theory Study Material?
Q. Hello all, I'm studying music theory on my own and I was wondering if there was any recommended online material i could use to help. More specifically, I was wondering if there was, for instance, online quizzes or flash cards to help quiz myself on the various chords (Am7, C7#5, Em(add9),etc.) in order to really study and learn them rather than just rote memorization which I know isn't that effective. Ideally, if there's something that either shows the chord in writing or the positions of the hands on a piano or guitar (or even both!) and then asks questions, or hides the answer so that it's not just the picture and then what chord it is (I already have that in my books) that would be best.
Thank you!
A. You could try one of these following:

Hope that helps :)
Can anyone here give me tips on how to play a piano for starters or a weblink that gives tips?

A. I would have to agree with tm99 but you can learn music by studying flash cards. They will help you with sight reading. Also, practice your scales and arpeggios. Chords are important but without them you can not play classical music correctly.
