How do I learn how to play by ear on piano? I wanna learn how to make my own songs?

Q. Hey I play the piano very well because I watch piano tutorials on youtube. I don't understand how to lay by ear because I just don't think I can. I really wanna make my own songs and I don't know what chords go together and chord progression sites don't really help me because most are for guitar... any piano help would be appreciated :) Thanks

A. I've played piano for three and a half years, and have reached the point that I can pick out songs that I learned on the guitar. I've played piano by sheet music since I started, but I learned to play the guitar either by ear or by being taught. I can't read a single note for guitar. I can't really explain how to become proficient at playing by ear, but just keep trying different combinations of notes, chords, melodies, whatever, and eventually, you'll probably be able to compose your own song easily. Also, if you would like to compose your own music, there is a computer program called Mozart 10 that I use. It is very user-friendly and easy to compose your own music. Good luck!

Original Question

Is there a musical system for creating single key harmonies on the piano?
Q. For instance hip beats and pop music tracks are pretty much composed of single key harmonies made on keyboards. So i just imagine there must be some system like chord progression for chords for single key harmonies.

A. It's called music theory - learn it and that will teach you the basics of how music is created.

Original Question

I've learned piano chords, where do I go from here? How do I put chords together?
Q. I taught myself major, minor, augmented, diminished and 7th chords, but the problem is I don't know what to do next. I would like to play melodies and chord progressions, can someone point me in the right direction?

A. Next step is to listen to lots of music. What you'll find is that chords will just "naturally" fall into place. as stated before the most basic progression is I IV V I ("One" "Four" "Five" "One")
