Q. This will be my very first piano purchase. I'm into piano music a lot and wish to learn it. What brand is good and what I should be looking for? Is it hard to learn to play the piano? Can I learn to play the piano on my own, by listening to music or learning from a software that I can purchase? I heard people can just learn by the chords.
A. There are so many piano brands out there. You could choose either an electronic piano or an acoustic one.
I really appreciate your interest in learning about pianos. I love listening to piano music. I used to play. Leaning piano is not difficult. You can get thousands of learning resources on the internet.
I would like to recommend you to choose a piano manufactured by Baldwin - a superb company with experience of over 100 years. However, you must like its sound look.
Here I would like to share a site which will help you a lot. Itâs all about learning piano.
What is the best Piano teaching software?
Q. Is there one that teaches chord proficiency like Mavis Bacon teaches typing? With the aid of a MIDI controller.
A. I loved the old Miracle Piano system. You got a MIDI-compatible keyboard and software that included games that were fingering exercises.
The company went under, though, and the company who bought up the rights hasn't continued it. When my kids got old enough to start learning, I started looking at the newer programs but I haven't found anything that even came close to Miracle's program. You might find an old version on eBay.
How do you properly teach yourself how to play the piano?
Q. Hello everyone. I am teaching myself how to play the keyboard/Piano from youtube videos. I am a beginner and there are a lot of videos online that are helpful but I wanted to know what should I learn first. I know that before anything I need to know the name of the keys and scales but then what is next? And another question is, once I learn a scale, should I learn the chords in the scale and then the other scales or learn all of the scales first and then the chords?
A. I agree with the other answers, you have to spend some money if your going to succeed. If you prefer video then buy a piano course there are some excellent piano courses on DVD or available to download, they are not expensive and they have a set program for you to follow.
