Q. i wrote lyrics to a song i want o preform, but i don't know how to add music to it. any help?
A. Depends on the lyrics. The music has to fit with them. For some help check this out:

In very basic terms, if the lyrics are sad go for a minor key and use chords that are in that key, they should sound ok together. If the lyrics are happy, use a major key and only use chords from that key.
Try to pick a key that you can sing easily in (A minor, C, G and E are pretty common ones).
You see the roman numerals in the picture? A lot of pop and rock songs use a I-IV-V-I chord progression which is why those chords are highlighted in each key.
For the rhythm, just play it as you feel it, just close your eyes and let it come to you.
Just mess around within a key until you find something that sounds cool basically.
Good luck. (This is based around guitar, the same stuff will work for piano. If you are talking about rap or electronic music, you will need to download some audio editing software but I can't really help you on how to do stuff within the software.)
