acoustic guitar question?

Q. I am going to get an acoustic guitar in about three months, and i don't know anything about an acoustic guitar, or even about the notes. I tried learning piano notes, but i am so slow at learning with instruments, especially with notes.
How can i learn and improve so i can be ready when i get my guitar.

Fact :
I am not going to get a guitar teacher, especially with the tough economy out there, last time i checked in my area, the highest per hour they teach you to pay is 100 and the lowest is $80
which is absurd!

A. Check your local craigslist for lessons. I used to pay $35.00 an hour, and he came to my house. He was a professional, gigging musician as well. Find someone that plays styles you like, and learn from them.

Also, a Seagull S6 Entourage or a Parkwood PW320M would be GREAT guitars for starting out. I strongly recommend one of those two. You're paying a bit more, but that also means the resale value of them does NOT decrease very much, and they also sound better as they age.

Guitars are very hard to learn theory for. There are multiple fingerings for chords, and the same note occurs on the fretboard several times. Reading sheet music is VERY difficult at first for guitar as well. Switches "note" namer application won't help you very much, as, like I said, the same notes occur multiple times on the fretboard, and you also have to figure out which A or B it is referring to on the fretboard.
