How, and where, can i learn chords, for a guitar-and what is the difference, of Major/Minor and 7's?

Q. So i got a guitar, almost 2 years ago. I have been playing piano for around 8 years, taking off some time this past year, and another a few years ago. But i was never able to grasp the whole minor/major thing, OR chords. So im trying to learn to play my guitar, have 2 different DVD's, but im just looking for a site online, that could help me understand chords better, and how to play them, and the difference from one type of B chord, to the next. Basicaly, do you know a REALLY good guitar help site? Sorry this was so long. Thanks!!!!

A. I'd get a chord chart - Musiciansfriend.com has them. That is the easiest way to figure out how to play any chord you want. The difference in the major/minor/7 chords has to do with the intervals between the notes in each chord. This site might help you understand the theory. http://library.thinkquest.org/15413/theory/intervals.htm

another good link with free chart:

Good luck. Having played piano is a definate help when learning a new instrument.

Original Question

Is it Easy to play the Uke? and is there any good online lessons?
Q. So, Me and my brother want to play the Ukulele, but i have NO idea if it is hard.
My brother has played Guitar for about 2 years.
And im a Beginner Clarinetist.
The reason i picked Clarinet, is because it was easy.
i HATE hard instruments.

I really Dread having to finger all the Chords, but im sure it will be worth it.
(: thanks so much.

A. JF,
It's as simple as you want it to be. Like anything you can do it if you want to.
First get a decent ukulele. A Lanikai LU-21 or 21C in my opinion is the best for the buck. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigatio⦠The 21C is a little larger than the standard soprano 21. It also has a mellower tone and wider frets, making it easier to chord.
Next some simple lessons:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigatio⦠Start at "Beginners"
Lots of lessons on Youtube:

Chord chart:
http://www.kunisan.jp/ukulele/eindex.htm⦠You can also access a tuner on this site. Don't get freaked out by all the chords. You don't use that many when you play a song anyway.
Songs: Start with simple songs you know so you don't have to memorize the tune. Simple chords!

I play my ukulele at church for worship. There are other instruments but it adds a little flavor than the regular guitar, bass, piano, and drums.
Have fun,
